Brown bear is probably the most common ursus family member living in boreal area but there are so many subspecies and possible crossbreed (with polar bear too -ursus arctos sitkensis-), with a lot of different phenotype, that it is really dangerous to think about a not threatened animal. Really ursus arctos is quite a veg for an over 85% vegetables based diet. This big brown bear (ursus arctos) genus includes ursus arctos beringianus, ursus arctos arctos, ursus arctos collaris, ursus arctos formicarius, ursus arctos gobiensis, ursus arctos horribilis, ursus arctos isabellinus ecc. ecc. So it means that, if there is over 200.000 brown bears global population all over the world, really there are only 3000 kodiak bears (ursus arctos middendorffi) outside Kodiak Archipelago but there are only 20-28 ursus arctos isabellinus individuals inside Deosai National Park: you can understand that’s terribly easy destroy them. So don’t disturb ! and leave them in peace !
